...I’m in the 7th grade and the "big homie" on the block just got his driver’s license AND an all black Jeep Wrangler with 6x9 speakers.
I hook up a couple of dollars in gas money from my parents and my childhood friend agrees to drop me off at my middle school in the morning. As we roll through town, with the top off and the doors removed, a rotation of CD’s including ATLiens, The Score and Mr. Smith are bump’n in the background.
I’m grinning from ear-to-ear and have to turn my dome to look out of where the passenger side window is supposed to be so I can play off my enthusiasm and look cool. We pull up to the school and I hop out of the all black Jeep Wrangler feeling cooler than a polar bear’s toenails and ready to start a brand new day.
